Earlier this week, Denmark became the first country in Europe to begin to lift its restrictions regarding the pandemic. After being the first country in Europe to shut down and close borders, and with their decreasing number of Covid-19 cases, Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen announced that students will return to school. Younger students, through fifth grade, have returned to their schools, allowing their parents to begin to return to work. There are still health precautions such as social distancing taking place, as well as increased hygienic practices, such as washing hands as students arrive at the beginning of the day, and at least once every two hours. This article states that the overall sentiment in Denmark is approval of the schools opening.
