College Admission Testing During Covid-19

While high-stakes testing has increased over the past years, the test optional movement has been growing. Due to the global pandemic, college admissions tests have had to cancel proctored tests until June. This puts those, such as current high school juniors, at a disadvantage as this is the time that they are studying and taking these tests that play a large role in their college plans. Many colleges and universities have stated that they will not require the submission of these test scores for the fall of 2021 and the spring of 2022. Some schools have even extended this test optional admissions process for the next few years. This may have created the push that the test optional movement needed to get more schools to go along with this admission process.
