On April 3rd, President Donald Trump tweeted the following
“We hit 3M hard today after seeing what they were doing with their Masks. ‘P Act’ all the way. Big surprise to many in government as to what they were doing – will have a big price to pay!”

3M indicated the US government has asked them to stop exporting N95 masks to Canada and Latino countries. The company said that this ban on masks could backfire as other countries may retaliate against the US.

On April 5th, several Canadian officials have spoken on this ban. Ontario’s Premier Doug Ford expressed disappointment.
“It’s like one of your family members (says), ‘OK, you go starve and we’ll go feast on the rest of the meal.’ I’m just so disappointed right now,” Ford said Saturday. “We have a great relationship with the US and they pull these shenanigans? Unacceptable.”
