Andrew Yang: We Asian Americans are not the virus, but we can be part of the cure

This is an article written by Andrew Yang, a presidential candidate for 2020, on the Washington Post, reflecting on the ongoing discrimination against Asians in America. His article caused some debate because people criticize his idea of “working harder to show that Asian Americans are Americans first”.

“The truth is that people are wired to make attributions based on appearance, including race. The best thing that could happen for Asians would be to get this virus under control so it isn’t a problem anymore. Then any racism would likely fade.”
