This article covers a frightening new phenomenon linked to coronavirus: a toxic-shock-like syndrome with many symptoms similar to Kawasaki disease. Unlike Kawasaki disease though, the syndrome leads to inflammation of the coronary arteries and other blood vessels. Experts believe it may be part of the children’s post-infectious immune response to coronavirus.
