Strokes in young and middle-aged coronavirus patients

This article covers an interesting phenomenon that has presented itself in some coronavirus cases: young and middle-aged patients with mild cases of coronavirus are dying from strokes. Researchers believe these strokes are due to blood clotting caused by infection with the virus. Future research directions include determining whether the virus is attacking the patients’ blood vessels directly or whether the clotting is part of the patients’ own immunoresponse to the virus.
