8,000+ People to be Monitored for COVID-19 in Seoul

Over the past few weeks, we have heard in the media how countries have differed in their responses to COVID-19. South Korea was noted for being “ahead” of the US in their successful efforts to contain the spread. However, even when the spread is contained, how fast can people go back to “normal”? On April 3, a production of Phantom of the Opera took place at Blue Square in Yongsan-gu, Seoul, with 8,578 audience members in attendance. After the performance, it was announced that two of the cast members have tested positive for COVID-19, and now all audience members are advised to quarantine and seek testing for the coronavirus.
