Final exams suspended in France

Today, the French minister of education announced that all written exams for the high school baccalauréat would be suspended due to COVID-19. This is major news: these exams are a major milestone event for the French high school student, and consist of cumulative exams touching on everything learned during senior year of high school. A minimum score on these exams is necessary to graduate high school, and sometimes to be granted university admission. Instead, graduation will now be granted based on the student’s performance throughout the school year, as well as some oral examinations.
